Taylor Swift Celebrates Pride Month at Lyon Eras Tour Show

Taylor Swift and tens of thousands of fans celebrated the second day of Pride Month with an unforgettable Eras Tour concert in Lyon, France. The pop superstar marked the occasion with a heartfelt moment on stage during her Sunday, June 2 performance.

During her three-hour-plus set, Swift gave a special shout-out to the LGBTQ community while performing her 2019 anthem, “You Need to Calm Down.” Midway through the Lover era portion of her show, she enthusiastically cheered, “Happy Pride Month, Lyon!” The crowd at Groupama Stadium responded with resounding applause, making it a memorable start to Swift’s Pride Month 2024 celebrations and her first of two consecutive Eras Tour stops in Lyon.

In a touching gesture to her European audience, the 14-time Grammy winner impressed fans by speaking in French. She welcomed the crowd with “Bienvenue dans la Eras Tour!” and later, while performing Evermore’s “Champagne Problems” on piano, she asked security in French to assist a concertgoer: “Aidez-les, s’il-vous-plaît.” This considerate act mirrored a similar moment from her recent shows in Portugal, where she addressed staff in Spanish to help fans.

Highlights from Swift’s first Lyon show included her surprise song selections. She debuted The Tortured Poets Department’s “The Prophecy” live for the first time and performed a unique mashup of “You’re On Your Own, Kid” and “Fifteen.” During the latter, she seemed to giggle over her romance with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce while singing, “In your life, you’ll do things greater than dating the boy on the football team.”

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in Lyon was a spectacular celebration of music, love, and inclusivity, setting a high bar for the rest of Pride Month 2024.

Don’t miss Taylor Swift’s next Eras Tour performance and join the celebration of Pride Month with unforgettable music and moments.
